
Digital Health: Planning National Systems
The overall aim of this training program is to strengthen country-level digital health governance and health workforce capacity to implement national digital health strategies, architectures, standards, information infrastructures and health emergency preparedness technologies and equip participants with the skills needed to adopt a national planning approach to digital health.
- Develop a holistic, enterprise planning approach to digital health;
- Utilize relevant WHO and ITU toolkits and Global Goods applications to support the implementation of digital health activities;
- Define and critique trade-offs among investments and activities;
- Demonstrate a range of technical skills related to digital health systems strengthening, including landscaping the enabling environment, refining a digital health strategy, and structuring partnerships to enable implementation of national digital health systems
- Design a plan to support a robust digital health enterprise architecture that is scalable, sustainable, and interoperable; and
- Develop the foundation for self-efficacy and leadership skills to manage and advocate for an enterprise planning approach aligned with specific health challenges and opportunities in-country.
This course is being offered in 2 modalities, self-paced and as a workshop during certain times of the year. More information will be available on the platform regarding workshop offerings.
A participant is expected to cover all of the modules to successfully complete the training and receive the certification.
- Ministry of Health and Ministry of ICT employees, including leaders, managers, and decision-makers, that work in digital health at a national level, represented in the WHO Digital Health Workforce pyramid by Planners, Researchers, and Developers, as well as, potentially, Decision Makers, as appropriate.
- The target audience has experience in planning, procuring, implementing, or evaluating digital health investments at a national level and is committed to advancing digital health transformation.
- Prior training in digital health is not required.
