Background
The July 2025 Cohort Global Diplomacy Bootcamp expands on the topics and courses introduced in its inaugural session, placing greater emphasis on in-field experience and analysis. This summer session covers ongoing topics at the UN as Member States and agencies prepared for the Summit of the Future and the Annual General Assembly. Participants will study the process of drafting and reaching resolutions under the guidance of experienced negotiators and will engage in peace mediation exercises. This cohort will offer participants a vivid experience of high-level negotiations, showcasing how effective leadership and negotiation skills can help minimize conflicts.
Learning Objectives
- Understand the United Nations System
- Identify the main organs, agencies, and regional/political groupings within the UN.
- Gain insights into the day-to-day functions and responsibilities of diplomats and UN civil servants.
- Analyze the interaction between Member States and the UN, especially in the context of high-level conferences like the Summit of the Future.
- Develop Multilateral Negotiation and Mediation Skills
- Practice fundamental negotiation tools in simulated multilateral settings (e.g., climate change, AI, and peacebuilding).
