Background
From 2 to 4 May, the CIFAL Istanbul Youth Platform (CIYP) participated in the BAUMUN and Nemesis conferences, gaining valuable insight into both the content of MUN simulations and the organizational aspects behind such events. In addition to joining as participants, CIYP proudly took part as one of the organizational affiliates of the conference, contributing to its successful execution. The conferences enabled youth to engage with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) across a range of dynamic committee sessions.
Event Objectives
This event aims to: increase participants’ awareness of global issues within the framework of the United Nations SDGs. develop skills in diplomacy, negotiation, and public speaking through active MUN participation. provide exposure to the structure and logistics of international youth conferences. encourage critical thinking and leadership among young delegates.

Content and Structure
The three-day conference hosted a variety of Model United Nations committee sessions where participants discussed topics aligned with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. CIFAL Istanbul Youth Platform (CIYP) attended the event to observe the conference flow, learn from the planning and execution processes. CIYP gained valuable behind-the-scenes insight into how such large-scale youth conferences are structured and managed. Attendees received certificates of participation endorsed by UNITAR and CIFAL Istanbul at the end of the event.
