CIFAL Malaga, Arrabal & Talento para el futuro

Arrière plan

With the purpose of strengthening young people's knowledge and involvement in building more just and sustainable societies, CIFAL Málaga, with the support of the City Council, has carried out an 8-hour training program during the month of May, outside of school hours, aimed at high school students. These learning spaces address fundamental topics such as citizenship, democracy, civic participation, and a culture of peace, establishing direct connections with the principles of the 2030 Agenda and SDG 16, which promotes strong institutions, justice, and peace. Civic education for young people is essential to ensure their active role in decision-making and social transformation through a participatory and responsible approach. Each seminar will combine theory and practice, promoting critical analysis of current challenges in democratic practice, governance, and human rights. Through dynamic methodologies such as debates, case studies, and simulations, participants' capacity for reflection and argumentation will be encouraged, enabling them to understand how they can impact their communities and contribute to the achievement of the SDGs. In addition, emphasis will be placed on the importance of dialogue and the peaceful resolution of conflicts, reinforcing values of coexistence and respect in a global context marked by social and political challenges. This initiative will not only provide tools for the formation of active and committed citizens but will also create a space for the exchange and collective construction of knowledge. Upon completing the seminar series, participants will have acquired key skills for social and political engagement, as well as resources to replicate and disseminate what they have learned in their communities.
