Emergency management (EM) is often taught in the context of community, provincial, national, and international emergencies. There is currently a gap in disaster and emergency management (DEM) education and training when transitioning from a generic and public emergency management context to a hospital and health care setting.

The annual Disaster and Emergency Management conference takes place at the end of each October. Relevant academic and professional partners are invited by the organizers to participate in the speaker selection process as part of the DEMCON Selection Committee. 

CIFAL Honolulu put on a research sprint grant for those interested in researching an SDG-related problem. Projects must address an SDG related question using research methods in any discipline. Mentorship will be available to help you design and implement your project.
