In an era marked by rapid urbanization, climate change, and environmental degradation, sustainability has become a critical focus for shaping the future of our cities and communities. As one of the world's leading universities, NTU is committed to driving meaningful conversations and fostering innovative solutions for a sustainable future. A lecture series dedicated to sustainability allows us to inspire the next generation of thinkers, leaders, and practitioners while reaffirming NTU's commitment to creating a positive impact on society and the environment.

The inaugural lecture, titled "Humanising Our Cities," will explore the intersection of design, sustainability, and human experience. Featuring Thomas Heatherwick, a globally renowned designer and visionary behind NTU's iconic The Hive building, the lecture will delve into how thoughtful, emotionally resonant design can transform urban spaces into sustainable, inclusive, and long-lasting environments. The discussion will emphasize the importance of integrating creativity, functionality, and sustainability in building the cities of tomorrow.
